After being upgraded to questionable for Monday’s Game 1 against the San Antonio Spurs (9:30 ET., Peacock), Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is now “expected to play,” per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
“Edwards has received medical clearance and will get final sign-off after his pregame routine,” Charania wrote on X/Twitter.
Edwards worked out at the team facility on Sunday, according to video posted to social media by beat writer Chris Hine.
Edwards suffered a bone bruise and hyperextension in his left knee in Game 4 of the first-round series against the Denver Nuggets.
The Timberwolves also lost guard Donte DiVincenzo to a torn Achilles in that series, while guard Ayo Dosunmu (right calf soreness) remains out for Game 1.
Charania previously reported Edwards would miss Games 1 & 2 of their against the Spurs, but could return as soon as Game 3 on Friday in Minnesota.

The Timberwolves won the regular-season series 2-1 against the Spurs. Minnesota won the first two matchups before San Antonio won the final game in January.
A four-time NBA All-Star, Edwards is averaging 28.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists on the season.
