"Elizabeth Taylor" by Taylor Swift debuts at No. 1 on two charts in the U.K. and returns to another tally — also hitting No. 1 for the first time. When Taylor Swift released her blockbuster album The Life of a Showgirl in the fall of 2025, every song on its track list became a hit in many nations all around the world. Swift is so popular that any piece of music she shares becomes commercially successful, whether it is promoted as a single at any point or not.

Months after The Life of a Showgirl arrived, the singer-songwriter selected “Elizabeth Taylor” as the third promotional tune from the project, and she’s been pushing that cut for nearly two months now. This song enjoyed an initial moment of glory and then began to drop down the many tallies, and though it peaked high on many charts, “Elizabeth Taylor” has not turned out to be a true smash.

Swift re-released the track – an ode to the actress of the same name – on vinyl as part of Record Store Day, and fans in the United Kingdom have turned it into not just a top seller, but a No. 1.

Taylor Swift’s “Elizabeth Taylor” Debuts at No. 1

This week, “Elizabeth Taylor” debuts on two rankings across the Atlantic, and it leads both of them. “Elizabeth Taylor” launches atop both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts simultaneously.

“Elizabeth Taylor” Marks Her Third No. 1 From Her New Album

“Elizabeth Taylor” is not only the third single from The Life of a Showgirl, it is also the third No. 1 on both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts that is featured the album. Previous focus tracks “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Opalite” also spent one moment in first place on those rosters.

Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight” and “The Lakes” Also Reached No. 1

Swift is on quite the winning streak when it comes to the two tallies, which rank the bestselling individual songs on vinyl in the U.K., as well as the top-selling tracks offered on any physical format. That includes vinyl as well as CDs and cassettes, as all three have become popular again in this highly collectible era.

The last five songs that the Grammy winner has debuted on both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts – a roundup that includes the aforementioned “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Opalite,” and “Elizabeth Taylor,” as well as both “The Lakes” and “Fortnight,” a collaboration with Post Malone – have all reached No. 1. An early-career win for Swift, “Teardrops on My Guitar,” also enjoyed a short run at No. 1. That cut, which will turn 20 next year and which helped power Swift’s self-titled debut album, didn’t become a winner on either ranking until 2019.

Taylor Swift Counts Double-Digit Top 10 Bestsellers

Swift may claim the same number of No. 1s on both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts, but she has not managed to send the same tracks into the top 10 on the tallies. The superstar claims nine top 10s on the vinyl-only rundown and two more on the Official Physical Singles register. “Elizabeth Taylor” becomes her milestone tenth overall career placement on the wax listing and her twelfth on the physical chart.

“Elizabeth Taylor” Hits No. 1 for the First Time on Another List

At the same time that “Elizabeth Taylor” debuts on the two aforementioned charts that look at purchases on physical formats, Swift’s cut also reaches the summit on the Official Singles Sales chart for the first time. That roster also includes digital downloads, in addition to vinyl, CDs, and cassette sales.

“Elizabeth Taylor” was last seen on the roster in November 2025, when it appeared for only the second time, establishing a new high of No. 59. This frame marks the first inside the top 40, and top 10, for the latest The Life of a Showgirl single.

“Elizabeth Taylor” Earns Taylor Swift a Sixth Sales No. 1

Swift also claims her sixth No. 1 on the Official Singles Sales chart, although her list of champions differs from the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles rankings. On the general sales rundown, the singer-songwriter has led the charge with “Look What You Made Me Do,” “Anti-Hero,” “Fortnight,” as well as “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Opalite,” and now “Elizabeth Taylor.”

“Elizabeth Taylor” Reenters the Downloads Chart

Swift’s latest smash reenters one other ranking, though it is almost as far as a title can get from No. 1. “Elizabeth Taylor” bounds back onto the Official Singles Downloads chart at No. 95. At the same time, Swift vaults from No. 73 to No. 14 on the main list of the most-consumed cuts in the U.K., nearly returning to the top 10 with her current The Life of a Showgirl smash.
