The goal of vacation isn’t just to escape your life for a week; you want to come back to it better. More aligned and more alive.

You planned the trip, booked the flights, packed and finally got away. But somewhere between the airport and the beach umbrella, you stopped taking care of yourself.

It wasn’t intentional; it’s just what happens. The routine and familiar schedule disappear, and somehow the habits that keep you sharp—movement, water, sleep, stillness—get left behind. You arrive at your destination running on recycled airplane air and airport coffee, sapped of energy and already behind before the vacation begins.

Vacation is the only time most of us genuinely stop long enough to reset, reevaluate, and refresh, and that window is rare. It’s also one of the most powerful opportunities you have to invest in yourself. The goal isn’t just to escape your life for a week; you want to come back to it better. More aligned and more alive.

This is where your Adjusted Reality travel companion comes in, with simple, powerful tips to stay aligned wherever you go.

1. Pack Your Health First

On the same list as the sunscreen, passport and phone charger, commit to one non-negotiable: your health. Bring comfortable walking shoes, a water bottle and your copy of Adjusted Reality. Then channel one more commitment before you close the suitcase: you’re going to move every single day.

Travel tip: Schedule your health like you schedule your flight. Non-negotiable, no matter where in the world you land.

2. Sleep Like You Mean It

The greatest luxury of vacation isn’t the view from your room. It’s the permission to rest. Jet lag will steal your best days if you let it. Think of sleep as Vitamin S, and don’t skip the daily dose.

Travel tip: Pack an eye mask. Block the light, protect the sleep and stay energized and fully present for every moment of your trip.

3. Hydrate at Every Altitude

Sunshine and long travel days dehydrate you faster than you think, but even sitting on a plane can do damage. Altitude pulls moisture from your body the entire flight. By the time you feel thirsty, you’re already behind. Vitamin H—hydration—is a must.

Travel tip: Drink at least one full glass of water every hour when flying. When you land, refuel with electrolytes, especially after long flights.

4. Don’t Just Sit—SITS

Hours in a plane seat are the enemy of alignment. You don’t need to pace the aisle. You just need SITS. Sitting upright with your shoulders back, try this every hour:

  • Shoulder Shrugs: Lift ears to shoulders, hold, release.
  • Incline: Drop one ear toward the shoulder, hold, switch.
  • Twist: Rotate upper body toward the window, then the aisle.
  • Steps: Walk the aisle when you can.

5. Stay in Alignment on the Go

Travel is far from relaxing. Heavy luggage, hours of sitting and unfamiliar beds are hard on the spine. Don’t let a vacation wreck your body.

Travel tip: Schedule a chiropractic visit before and after your trip. When the spine is aligned, movement is more efficient, recovery more complete and every experience lands fuller. Your Adjusted Reality travel companion starts before you leave the driveway.

6. Be Where Your Feet Are

A husband once told his wife, “Put a towel down and stay still for ten minutes.” It was, by her own admission, the hardest thing she’d ever done. She lay back, stared up at the sky, and started turning clouds into animals. That’s contentment. That’s the whole point of getting away.

Travel tip: Take two minutes each day for stillness. Look around. Fully arrive. Eyes wide open, no phone, just the moment you are in.

7. Breathe to Reset

Your breath is the fastest tool you have for energy and calm. No spa required. Just thirty seconds and the willingness to use it.

Travel tip: Gently close the left nostril, then inhale and exhale through the right nostril only for three minutes. This pattern activates the energizing side of the nervous system—increasing alertness, supporting oxygen uptake and creating a focused, ready state. It works on the plane, in the hotel or standing somewhere so beautiful it takes your breath away.

You didn’t come this far just to be exhausted in a beautiful place. You came to feel it. The kind of alive that only happens when your body is moving, your mind is still and you are finally, fully present in the moment.

That’s what your Adjusted Reality travel companion is designed to protect. Not just the trip but the version of you that comes home from it.

Get aligned, and pack light on everything except your intention, because the next stop is somewhere extraordinary.
