The BRIT Awards 2026 - Show

Harry Styles's debut solo single "Sign of the Time" is once again a top 40 smash in the U.K., nearly a decade after its release — and as "Dance No More" debuts. A little more than two months ago, Harry Styles released his fourth solo album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. Earlier this month, the superstar continued to highlight the set with the beginning of his Together, Together tour, which looks very different from many concert treks. Instead of traveling to perhaps dozens of countries, the Grammy winner will only perform in seven cities, but he's already planned 67 shows, including 30 nights at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Styles has been promoting Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally throughout 2026, and even as he scores a new smash from the project in his home country, Styles's first song released after One Direction went on hiatus becomes a surprising hit all over again.

Harry Styles Pushes "Sign of the Times" Into the Top 40

Styles officially began his solo career almost a decade ago with the single "Sign of the Times." The track was released in the spring of 2017, and it fronted his then-upcoming self-titled first album. This week, "Sign of the Times" appears on four rankings in the U.K., and it climbs on each and every one of them.

The tune performs best on the most competitive singles list in the nation, the Official Singles chart, which ranks cuts based on total consumption. "Sign of the Times" dances from No. 45 to No. 40, becoming a top 40 smash years after it was first shared with the world.

MORE FOR YOU

“Sign of the Times” Became a Smash Again Months Ago

"Sign of the Times" was an immediate champion on the Official Singles chart, as the tune debuted at No. 1 in April 2017. The song only spent one frame leading, but somewhat surprisingly, it has only been a few weeks since it last appeared within the top 40.

"Sign of the Times" enjoyed a huge boost earlier this year after it was featured in the movie Project Hail Mary, one of the highest-grossing films of 2026. On the Official Singles chart dated April 16, "Sign of the Times" returned at No. 28 after not finding space on the list since the spring of 2018. Styles’s solo smash spent three weeks within the region, then slipped just beneath No. 40, but now it's back.

Harry Styles’s Solo Smash Climbs on Three More Lists

In addition to the Official Singles chart, "Sign of the Times" also climbs on three other rankings as it performs well when it comes to both sales and streams, though it does not land inside the top 40 on any of them. "Sign of the Times" bolts from No. 96 to No. 63 on the Official Singles Downloads ranking, from last place – No. 100 – to No. 67 on the Official Singles Sales tally, and from No. 89 to No. 81 on the Official Streaming rundown.

Harry Styles Scores a New Hit With "Dance No More"

The Official Charts Company only allows every artist to claim three wins on the Official Singles chart as a lead act per week, and Styles meets that quota. He scores a new smash with "Dance No More," the third promotional cut shared from Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. An official music video was released not long ago, and when paired with the beginning of his Together, Together tour, the track has become a certified hit. “Dance No More” debuts at No. 58, earning Styles his twenty-third placement on the list under his own name.

"American Girls" Remains a Hit in the U.K.

Styles's highest-rising success on the Official Singles chart remains "American Girls," the second single from his latest album. That tune, which has already dominated, sits just beneath the top 10, slipping slightly to No. 13. "American Girls" does manage to climb on the Official Streaming (No. 22), Official Singles Downloads (No. 60) and Official Singles Sales charts (No. 64).
