The 2025 Met Gala Celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" - Arrivals

Madonna's The Confessions Tour live set debuts on two Billboard charts after its re-release for Record Store Day as "I Feel So Free" becomes a fast top 10 hit. Madonna is in the midst of a very exciting week on the Billboard charts. The pop icon scores both a new bestselling album and a hit song, and the titles represent different – but connected – eras of her career. The Confessions Tour launches on a pair of rankings and returns to another, while “I Feel So Free,” the first song shared from Madonna’s upcoming Confessions II album, starts on multiple rankings and even manages to lead one of them.

Madonna’s The Confessions Tour Debuts on Two Charts

The Confessions Tour arrives on both the Top Dance Albums and Vinyl Albums charts simultaneously. The set ranks highest on the dance-specific tally, where it comes in at No. 16. The Confessions Tour barely manages to make space on Billboard’s roster that looks only at the top-selling releases on vinyl, as it opens at No. 25, in last place. In both instances, Madonna collects her eleventh career placement as her live effort debuts.

Madonna Establishes a New Career Low

The Confessions Tour is one of Madonna’s lowest-peaking releases on the Top Dance Albums ranking, a chart she has dominated three times in the past – including with Confessions on a Dance Floor, which spent 13 frames running the show. Only the Dance Mix EP (No. 17) and Veronica Electronica (No. 23), which debuted less than a year ago, have stalled in lower spaces.

On the Vinyl Albums chart, The Confessions Tour brings Madonna to a never-before-seen low. Previously, American Life - Mixshow Mix (Honoring Peter Rauhofer) stood out as her worst performer on the wax roster. That set stalled at No. 23, and it is one of only three collections – including Like a Prayer and now The Confessions Tour – to fail to enter the top 20.

The Confessions Tour Returns for Record Store Day

The Confessions Tour was originally released in early 2007, a little over a year after Confessions on a Dance Floor topped charts all around the world and brought Madonna some of the best critical reviews of her career. The set was re-released as part of Record Store Day, and the vinyl edition becomes a fast bestseller. At the same time that the title debuts on two tallies, The Confessions Tour also finds its way back to the Top Album Sales chart, which is currently filled with plenty of Record Store Day-related offerings. This week, Madonna breaks back in at No. 35, though that does not mark a new high for the live project, which previously topped out at No. 15.

Madonna’s The Immaculate Collection Slides on One Chart

At the same time that The Confessions Tour appears as one of the top-performing dance releases in the country, Madonna doubles up on just one list. The Immaculate Collection slips one space, dipping to No. 14 on the current edition of the Top Dance Albums chart.

Madonna’s “I Feel So Free” Arrives on the Dance Rankings

“I Feel So Free,” which helps introduce Confessions II, is a hit on several dance-focused rosters published by Billboard. Madonna’s latest single enters the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart at No. 12, the Dance/Mix Show Airplay roster at No. 14, and it rules the Dance Digital Song Sales tally. Madonna doubles her champions on that ranking thanks to her latest cut.

“I Feel So Free” even manages to land on the non-genre-specific Digital Song Sales rundown, where it starts at No. 6 – at the same time that Madonna's nearly two-decade-old album becomes a sudden bestseller.
