2025 BMI Country Awards - Arrivals

For the first time since late 2025, Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" does not sit at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. Taylor Swift rules instead. Ella Langley's career will never be the same after the release of her single "Choosin' Texas." The tune dropped in November 2025 and quickly became a chart hit, the likes of which the singer-songwriter probably never expected. "Choosin' Texas" didn't dominate only the country tallies, but also several of Billboard's genre-specific rankings. That includes the Billboard Hot 100, where "Choosin' Texas" led the charge for a milestone 10 weeks, making it one of the most successful country hits of all time.

Langley's smash has proved unbeatable on Billboard's Hot Country Songs rundown for months, despite some incredibly tough competition. That is no longer the case as of this frame, and she finally cedes control over the throne for the first time this year.

Taylor Swift Debuts "I Knew It, I Knew You" at No. 1

Taylor Swift scores a new champion on the Hot Country Songs chart this week, as "I Knew It, I Knew You" debuts in first place. The superstar has now pushed 108 tracks to the country ranking. 37 of those have spent time within the top 10, and "I Knew It, I Knew You" marks her milestone tenth champion.

Here are all of Taylor Swift's No. 1s on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.

  • "All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)"
  • "I Knew You Were Trouble"
  • "Love Story"
  • "Love Story (Taylor’s Version)"
  • "Ours"
  • "Our Song"
  • "Should’ve Said No"
  • "Sparks Fly"
  • "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"
  • "You Belong with Me"

Ella Langley Finally Falls from No. 1

For the first time in months, Langley's "Choosin' Texas" does not sit at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs tally. The track reached the top spot in early December of last year, only about a month after first appearing on the roster. Ever since it climbed to No. 1, "Choosin' Texas" has fended off every other hit throughout the last month of 2025 and all of 2026. Even Langley's own "Be Her," the second single from her sophomore album Dandelion, stopped one slot short of running the show, as it was unable to topple "Choosin' Texas."

"Choosin’ Texas" Has Ruled for Months

Last time around, "Choosin' Texas" broke out of a tie with "I Hope" by Gabby Barrett, as the two jointly claimed the honor of being the fourth-longest-running rulers in the decades-long history of the Hot Country Songs chart for a while. "I Hope" is steady with its 27 frames at the summit, while "Choosin' Texas" stands alone with 28 periods in charge.

If Langley can push "I Knew It, I Knew You" out of the highest rung – which she may very well be able to do in the coming weeks – "Choosin' Texas" will likely find its way back to No. 1. It will have to rule for half a dozen more periods, though, before the cut rises again on the list of the longest-reigning tunes on the Hot Country Songs chart.

Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road" sits in third place on the historic rundown with 34 weeks in charge to its name. Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line's "Meant to Be" continues to own the all-time record with 50 weeks – just shy of a complete year – dominating the country tally. Shaboozey's breakout single "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" ended its 45-week stretch last year, and it continues to hold in second place.

Ella Langley Continues to Dominate Multiple Charts

"Choosin' Texas" may no longer rule the Hot Country Songs chart, but it has not fallen far. Langley occupies positions two through four with "Choosin' Texas," "Be Her" and "I Can't Love You Anymore" – her collaboration with Morgan Wallen – respectively. She also closes out the top 10 with "Loving Life Again," which dips from No. 8 to tenth place. Looking at the full 50-spot roster, Langley scores eight hits.
