10 songs from BTS's comeback album Arirang remain on the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week, while three tracks from the bestseller disappear from the American roster. Most K-pop acts are lucky to reach the Billboard Hot 100, the most competitive and important songs chart in the United States, at any point. Some of the biggest groups and soloists can regularly claim new wins on the tally whenever they deliver another project or hype a just-dropped single. Only a handful of the most successful K-pop artists of all time have been known to rack up multiple successes at a time, typically when an album debuts on various Billboard tallies.

Then there’s BTS. The septet stands alone among not just K-pop artists, but groups in general, as the most successful band of the past several years – and not only in America, but all around the world. Last week, the multi-genre superstars absolutely dominated the Billboard Hot 100, as tunes from the BTS comeback album Arirang launched in droves.

Days later, while every cut by BTS slides backward on the Billboard Hot 100, the boy band manages to fill double-digit spots for the second week in a row.

BTS Fills 10 Spots on the Billboard Hot 100

BTS currently appears in 10 slots on the Billboard Hot 100. The tally includes 100 spaces, so the South Korean seven-member vocal troupe lays claim to 10% of the entire rundown. Here is a look at where all of BTS’s songs appear on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.

  • No. 2 - "Swim"
  • No. 42 - "Body To Body"
  • No. 64 - "Hooligan"
  • No. 73 - "Normal"
  • No. 74 - "FYA"
  • No. 75 - "2.0"
  • No. 84 - "Aliens"
  • No. 90 - "Like Animals"
  • No. 94 - "They Don't Know 'bout Us"
  • No. 96 - "Merry Go Round"

BTS’s “Swim” Falls to No. 2 as “Choosin’ Texas” Lifts to No. 1

Among BTS’s Billboard Hot 100 wins this week, only one appears inside the top 40. “Swim” earned the group its seventh No. 1 when it debuted atop the roster several days ago. This time around, “Swim” does not fall very far, but it is no longer in charge of the chart.

Ella Langley’s “Choosin' Texas” returns to the summit for its third separate run at No. 1, while “Swim” declines a single peg to No. 2. Fan favorite “Body to Body” nearly hangs on within the region, but misses out by only a few rungs. Last week, “Body to Body” debuted at No. 25, and this frame, it declines to No. 42.

Three BTS Songs Fall Off of the Billboard Hot 100

BTS’s second-week showing on the Billboard Hot 100 is impressive, and it is the kind of feat that, when looking at K-pop acts, no other competitor could come close to mustering. That said, three of the band’s recent wins disappear from the ranking entirely. “One More Night,” “Please,” and “Into the Sun” launched on the Billboard Hot 100 in the previous period and are now nowhere to be found, at least on this specific list.

BTS’s Arirang Tunes Dominate the Global Charts

Arirang features 14 tracks, but only 13 became hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and various other Billboard charts last week. “Number 29,” which runs under two minutes, did not become a win.

While several tunes fall off the Billboard Hot 100, each and every Arirang track – save for “Number 29” – managed to perform very well on the company’s worldwide tallies, the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. On the latter, which ranks songs based on consumption all around the world (though American streams and sales are completely left out of its methodology), BTS scores half a dozen top 10s, and the Grammy nominees occupy the highest two spaces at the same time.

All 13 Arirang cuts can be found inside the top 40 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S., which speaks to BTS’s incredible popularity all around the planet.
