Rock Band The Eagles in Desert Valley

"Hotel California" by the Eagles flaps its wings and flies back onto the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., reaching a new high as it returns to the worldwide tally. The catalog of the rock band the Eagles is stuffed with hit songs, as the group enjoyed an incredible run on the charts thanks to dozens of singles and some of the bestselling albums of all time. While the musicians have not released new music in years, the superstars can almost always be found on multiple charts in the United States, and in some cases all around the world.

One of the most famous Eagles tracks, perhaps the band’s signature song — which is saying quite a bit for such a beloved troupe — returns to one list published by Billboard. As it becomes a winner again, the smash makes it to a new all-time high.

“Hotel California” Returns to Billboard’s Global Chart

“Hotel California” returns to the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. this week. The roster ranks the most consumed songs all around the planet using both sales and streaming data in its weekly generation. The tally does not take into account what Americans are listening to, but its companion roster, the Billboard Global 200, does.

This frame, “Hotel California” is back at No. 194 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. That’s a lowly position for a 200-space ranking, but it nonetheless marks a new peak for the tune.

“Hotel California” Has Only Charted Twice

“Hotel California” appears on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. for only the second time. The Eagles debuted the song on the planet-spanning ranking in January 2023, when it opened in an even less impressive spot and then quickly slipped away.

“Please Come Home for Christmas” Remains the Biggest Hit

The Eagles have thus far scored only two hits on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. “Hotel California” is the lowest-peaking of the pair, while “Please Come Home for Christmas” ranks as the group’s only top 40 smash.

“Hotel California” Has Risen Higher on the Billboard Global 200

So far, “Hotel California” has only appeared on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. twice, but it is significantly more successful on the Billboard Global 200, which does include streams and sales from American listeners. On that tally, “Hotel California” jumps from No. 149 to No. 133. That’s just one space beneath its all-time high of No. 132.

As of this period, “Hotel California” has spent a total of 138 frames rising and falling on the 200-space rundown – 69 times as long as its tenure on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.

Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) Climbs

An apparent increase in interest in “Hotel California” aids one full-length by the Eagles – but not the project that shares its name with the single – in climbing on several tallies. Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975), one of the top-performing releases of all time, reappears on the Top Rock Albums chart in America at No. 25. In the past, it has surged as high as No. 8 in the half-decade it has ranked as one of the most popular rock collections.

The same compilation inches from No. 33 to No. 29 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, while pushing 10 spots to No. 109 on the Billboard 200. Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) is up to 410 weeks on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums tally and just over a decade on the Billboard 200, the most important albums ranking in the nation.
