When a musician is as successful as Michael Jackson was for so many years, it can be difficult to believe that there’s anything left for them to accomplish that they haven’t already. When it comes to the charts, Jackson is one of the bestselling and most beloved artists of all time, and yet, even to this day, there are rosters he’s never appeared on and tallies he has yet to conquer.
More than a decade after his passing, Jackson scores his first appearance and initial champion on one albums roster in the United Kingdom during one of his most impressive weeks on that country’s charts.
Jackson controls the Official Soundtrack Albums chart, which details the biggest soundtracks in that nation, blending all manner of sales to show what fans in that nation are buying. Michael, which accompanies the biopic of the same name – itself a smash at the box office – launches at No. 1. Before this frame, the King of Pop had never appeared on the soundtracks rundown, and on his first visit, he dominates.
Michael arrives on seven rankings in the U.K. this frame, but it only manages to lead the Official Soundtrack Albums chart. The greatest hits project also opens at No. 3 on the Official Albums Streaming tally. Michael debuts in fourth place on the Official Albums, Official Albums Sales, and Official Physical Albums lists. The project breaks in just one space lower on the Official Album Downloads and Official Vinyl Albums charts, where it’s new at No. 5. Impressively, Michael does not peak lower than fifth place on any tally it reaches this time around.
The number of top 10s that Jackson has accrued throughout his career varies widely from roster to roster. He collects his first appearance inside that tier on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart, and he has scored fewer than 10 on the streaming, sales, and vinyl lists as well. Jackson is up to 20 top 10s on the Official Albums chart, which details the most-consumed projects in the country using both sales and streaming data.
Michael is one of nine albums by Jackson that appear on at least one list across the Atlantic this frame. Most return to several rankings at the same time, and in some instances, classics even manage to soar to never-before-seen highs. The superstar’s current roundup of charting full-lengths includes Thriller, Bad, The Essential Michael Jackson, Off The Wall, HIStory: Past, Present And Future, Book I, Dangerous, and The Ultimate Collection, which is credited to The Jackson 5.
Only HIStory: Past, Present And Future, Book I, Dangerous, and The Ultimate Collection make space on a single ranking. All three take up space on the Official Album Downloads chart, but no other tallies.
16 different songs by Jackson also chart in the U.K., and it’s quite the thrilling period for the singer’s catalog. Several time-tested smashes debut on rosters that may not have existed during Jackson’s heyday, and in many instances, some of the top-performing pop and R&B cuts of the last several decades rise to new all-time highs.
One late superstar blocks another from the summit on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart this frame. As Michael launches at No. 1, Elvis Presley climbs to second place and stalls in that space. Epic – Elvis Presley In Concert, which was attached to the performance film of the same name that reached theaters earlier in 2026, has already ruled the roost and was aiming for another frame at No. 1, but nobody could beat Jackson this time around.
