At this point, there’s little left for the song “Golden” to do when it comes to making history. The track, which helped catapult the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters into the stratosphere and turned it into a global sensation, became the first K-pop cut to win a Grammy earlier this year. Then, just a few weeks later, it also snagged the Best Original Song Academy Award.
The cut dropped in the summer of 2025, and after so much time as a charting success, the vast majority of pop songs would have completely disappeared, but not “Golden.” This frame, the tune – performed by the fictional girl group Huntr/x, as well as singers Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami – continues to find space on many of Billboard’s most competitive tallies, and it even manages to make history on one of the top lists in the United States.
“Golden” dances back into the top 10 on the Digital Song Sales chart, the tally that concerns itself only with the bestselling cuts of any style or any language on platforms like iTunes. “Golden” advances from No. 17 to No. 9, aided in its growth by multiple BTS songs that fall away. Last week, the South Korean boy band launched its comeback album Arirang atop multiple rosters, and nearly every cut featured on its track list became not just a hit, but a top seller.
As of this period, “Golden” has spent 40 weeks on the Digital Song Sales chart. That’s a new record when looking only at K-pop tracks. Last time around, “Golden” was on the same level as “Apt.,” the hugely successful collaboration between Blackpink singer Rosé and crooner Bruno Mars. That former No. 1 – which also made history with several Grammy nominations – held on for 39 frames. As of this period, “Golden” ranks as the longest-charting title by any K-pop act in the history of the Digital Song Sales ranking.

In addition to being the composition with the most time spent on the Digital Song Sales chart, “Golden” also ranks as one of the longest-running No. 1s. After it snagged the Academy Award, “Golden” vaulted back to the summit, earning a sixth stay inside the penthouse. In doing so, it passed Jung Kook’s “Standing Next to You,” which managed five frames at No. 1 back in 2023.
Just two pieces of music that can be classified as K-pop have led the charge for longer, and they both come from BTS. First, “Dynamite” and then “Butter” topped the Digital Song Sales rundown for 18 weeks – a feat that continues to hold as not only an all-time record among K-pop acts, but every type of artist.
“Golden” advances on the Digital Song Sales chart, despite the fact that between the previous week and the most recent one, the tune lost several hundred purchases. Last frame, “Golden” sold a little more than 2,600 copies. In the most recent tracking period, which is reflected on the current Billboard charts, the multilingual smash sold just under 2,100 copies. That’s a loss of 500 units – a huge sum when looking at under 3,000 in total – but the vacancies left by BTS provide an opportunity for many tracks, including “Golden.”
Currently, “Golden” lives on nine different Billboard rankings, and amazingly, it can be found inside the top 10 on all but two of them. On the Pop Airplay roster, it slips to No. 12, and at the same time, it backtracks one peg to No. 14 on the Streaming Songs rundown.
Like on the Digital Song Sales chart, “Golden” also returns to the top 10 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S., now that BTS is not nearly as dominant as it was just a few days ago.
