The Drama, a romantic comedy drama starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, is coming to digital streaming this week after the indie film hit cracked a major milestone at the worldwide box office for its studio, A24.
Written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, The Drama premiered in theaters on April 3. The movie follows the tumultuous week before the scheduled wedding of Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Pattinson). The week takes a hard left turn during a gathering with their friends, Rachel (Alana Haim) and Mike (Mamoudou Athie), where each of them confess to the worst thing they’ve ever done in their lives.

Emma’s confession about a dark secret from her past is especially disturbing, and as a result, her and Charlie’s lives go into a complete tailspin and their pending nuptials are suddenly in jeopardy.

Rated R, The Drama will be released on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, May 5, a new listing on Prime Video confirms. In addition to Prime Video, The Drama will be available for purchase for $24.99 on a variety of digital platforms, including Apple TV, Fandango at Home and YouTube Movies & TV.

The rental price for The Drama is not yet listed, but since PVOD rentals are typically $5 less than purchase prices, the film should be available to rent for $19.99 for a 48-hour period.
The Drama has earned $46.9 million in North American ticket sales and $57.9 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $103.9 million. The A24 film had a production budget of $28 million before marketing expenses, according to Variety.
Currently, The Drama’s $103.9 million global take makes it the fifth highest-grossing film in A24’s history, behind 2025’s Marty Supreme ($191.3 million), 2022’s Everything Everywhere All at Once ($143.4 million), 2024’s Civil War ($127.3 million), and 2025’s Materialists ($107.8 million).

The Drama finished in ninth place at this weekend’s domestic box office, earning just over $908,300. Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s The Drama, which is still playing in theaters, arrives on PVOD on Tuesday.
