Even when he has nothing new to promote, and after months of quiet, Eminem seems to have no trouble ranking as one of the bestselling rap musicians in America. He often claims multiple hits across a number of Billboard charts, some of which succeed week after week thanks to continued purchases. This time around, the Grammy winner claims two of the 10 bestselling rap tracks in the nation, with one nearly reconquering a competitive roster, while the other establishes a new high.
Eminem nearly regains control of the Rap Digital Song Sales chart, which details the top-selling tunes in that one genre via stores online such as iTunes, Amazon, and others. “Lose Yourself” lifts one space, improving from No. 3 to No. 2. Only T.I.’s “Let ‘Em Know,” which is steady at the summit, blocks him from finding his way back to the highest rung.
“Lose Yourself” is counted among Eminem’s 19 No. 1 smashes on the Rap Digital Song Sales chart. “Lose Yourself” debuted on the list in January 2010, and it required nearly 15 years before it finally reached the penthouse. “Lose Yourself,” which won Eminem an Academy Award, the rare hip-hop track to claim the Best Original Song category, didn’t lead the charge on the Rap Digital Song Sales roster until last December.
“Lose Yourself” easily ranks as Eminem’s longest-charting tune and one of the bestselling rap cuts of all time.
