American snack brand Utz issued a voluntary recall Monday for potato chips sold throughout the U.S., warning consumers to discard the impacted products over a potential salmonella risk.
No illnesses have been reported in relation to the recalled products.

The voluntary recall impacts certain limited varieties of Zapp’s and Dirty potato chips and was issued after a seasoning containing dry milk powder from California Dairies was flagged for a potential presence of salmonella.
The seasoning batches tested negative for salmonella prior to use, though Utz is recalling the potato chips “out of an abundance of caution,” according to a statement.
No illnesses have been reported to Utz in connection with the recalled chips available at retail stores throughout the U.S.
The Food and Drug Administration said consumers who have the recalled chips should discard them.
Items included in the recall are Zapp's Bayou Blackened Ranch Potato Chips, Dirty Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips, Zapp's Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips, Dirty Maui Onion Potato Chips, Zapp's Brand Big Cheezy Potato Chips, Zapp's Big Cheezy Potato Chips, Dirty Sour Cream and Onion Potato Chips. Monday’s recall is just the second recall for Utz products since January 2024, when 1200 single-serve bags of Utz Wavy Original Potato Chips were recalled for an undeclared milk allergen. Undeclared allergens are a leading cause of FDA food recalls. No illnesses were reported in connection to the recalled chips. The FDA has recorded 343 food recalls so far this year, a slight improvement on the 386 recalls recorded in the same period of time last year, according to FDA data.
