Women’s bodies are living, changing things. Whether it is the monthly rhythm of a menstrual cycle, the extraordinary transformation of pregnancy, or simply the natural evolution that comes with time, women’s bodies are always in motion. For too long, fashion has struggled to keep up.

Research backs up what so many of us already feel: a positive body image is directly linked to greater psychological wellbeing, higher self-esteem, and healthier habits. Social media movements built around body positivity have helped shift the conversation in meaningful ways, championing more authentic and varied representations of real women. Hashtags like #bodypositive and beauty campaigns have turned platforms that were once associated with unrealistic ideals into spaces where diverse bodies are not just visible but celebrated. Communities have formed around shared experiences of pregnancy, postpartum recovery, midlife changes and everything in between, and the message is that women deserve to feel good in their bodies at every stage, not just the ones society has traditionally deemed worthy of being seen.

Accordingly, women are increasingly choosing brands that reflect their real lives and seeking out pieces that are designed to move with them rather than against them. Luxury stylist and image consultant Angela Kyte weighs in on how to wear certain wardrobe staples.

The Denim Women Are Wearing Through Every Body Change

For many women, denim is the wardrobe essential that feels hardest to hold onto when the body changes. Whether you are navigating pregnancy, recovering postpartum, or simply moving through the natural shifts that come with time, finding a pair of jeans that feels like you has historically meant compromise. Two brands are changing that in very different but equally compelling ways.

MORE FOR YOU

Beyond Nine was born from a moment of pure frustration. Founder Naomi Raybould was 36 weeks pregnant with her second child when she realised that nothing on the market felt like her. "Pregnancy is such a shift in identity, and the options felt limited, disposable, and far from cool," she says. With no fashion background and a baby on the way, she built a website, shot the first two products herself, and launched the brand the day before giving birth. The result is denim reimagined for a changing body without losing its point of view on style, with adaptive waistbands, considered stretch and directional silhouettes including horseshoe, barrel and balloon fits, all available in bold colours and prints.

Naomi Raybould launched Beyond Nine the day before giving birth, designing denim and linen pieces that move with a woman's body through pregnancy and postpartum.

For the postpartum chapter specifically, Silver Jeans has earned a devoted following for one simple reason: comfort that actually looks good. Their bestselling Suki fit is a mid-rise curvy style with a contoured waistband that eliminates gapping, a flattering cut through the hip and thigh, and back pockets engineered to lift and shape.

Kyte recommends both brands to her clients for exactly this reason. "I’d usually steer women towards softer high waisted styles, relaxed straight legs or slightly looser fits rather than anything skin tight around the stomach if we’re dressing for comfort at that time of the month or post birth," she explains to me over email. Her key rule for making denim work is proportions. If the jeans are relaxed, balance them with a neater vest, knit or tucked tee on top. "And honestly, the right accessories do half the work. A blazer, layered jewellery or a great oversized shirt instantly makes the outfit feel more styled without trying too hard."

The Suki fit from Silver Jeans features a contoured waistband, a butt-lifting back pocket design and stretch denim that supports a postpartum body through every change.

The Co-ords Women Are Packing for Every Vacation

There is a particular kind of freedom that comes with packing the perfect getaway outfit, one that looks considered but requires almost no effort to pull together. Co-ord sets are the smartest answer to that brief, and Kyte is a firm advocate. "Co-ords and summer dresses are brilliant because they take the pressure out of getting dressed while still making you feel put together," she says.

4th and Reckless has mastered the formula. Founder Pawan Khosla built the brand around a versatile wardrobe designed to empower women with essentials that can be styled repeatedly. The sets are affordable, relaxed and flattering in equal measure, travelling beautifully and earning their place in your suitcase summer after summer. Kyte recommends this brand and additionally, her advice for holiday styling is to play with proportions, pairing a looser shirt with a more fitted vest underneath, or a relaxed trouser with a cropped knit. Finish with chunky sandals, layered gold jewellery, a great lipstick and a woven bag, and the outfit does the rest. Don’t forget to iron or steam your co-ord set before wearing for a clean look.

Effortlessly wearable and sustainably made, 4th and Reckless co-ord sets are built to be reworn, restyled and loved for summers to come for women of all sizes.

The Summer Dresses Women Are Wearing All Season Long

A great summer dress might be the single most powerful item once the sunshine appears. It works for a plane journey, the beach, the restaurant and everything in between, and when it fits well, it has a way of making everything else feel easier too.

Kyte points to specific design details that are essential in a summer dress. "With dresses, details like ruching, wraps and draping make such a difference because they create shape naturally," she says. For women who might be feeling less than confident in their bodies, Kyte still recommends not to hide behind oversized clothing. According to her expertise, soft tailoring and movement in fabrics is much more flattering, especially when accessorized correctly.

Hutch has built an entire following on exactly that promise, with a summer collection running from XXS to 3X that is designed to make every woman feel celebrated. What sets them apart is the attention to fit across every size. Each silhouette is considered with real women in mind, so a dress that looks stunning on a size 6 is designed to feel equally beautiful on a size 22. The latest collection leans fully into color and print, emphasizing florals, vibrant stripes, and a palette that spans from soft pastels to rich saturated tones.

From florals to bold stripes, Hutch's summer collection runs from XXS to 3X and is designed to make every woman feel celebrated and completely herself.

The Office Wear That Women Are Reaching For

Kyte's formula for office dressing is straightforward. "The trick is to anchor the outfit with a structured coat, tailored trouser or really good knit, and then keep the rest relaxed."

For conservative office environments, she points to Dudley Stephens. Adding initials or a monogram to a well-fitted sweater or turtleneck allows you to appreciate where your body is right now. Pair with some tailored trousers and a sleek belt for a timeless look. Or, on those casual work days, throw on a blazer and a pair of dark jeans and kitten heels to still look effortless.

Kyte also appreciates tonal dressing for the corporate environment which she says makes you look “expensive" without much effort. For women who want something polished enough for the office but genuinely comfortable to wear all day, Weartwo might be worth shopping from. Founded by stylists Maddy and Justine, the brand’s signature jump-set is a two-piece alternative to the jumpsuit that delivers the elegance of a one-piece with the versatility of separates. This spring, the collection introduces new silhouettes alongside a fresh palette anchored by a standout coral hue, warmer than a classic pink and softer than a true orange, and designed to bring a flattering glow to the skin. Finish with a pair of loafers and an oversized pair of sunglasses and the look takes care of itself.

Don't be afraid to wear bright colors; pair this blazer for a corporate setting or a night out.

Weartwo

"The biggest shift in fashion over the last few years is that women don’t want to choose between looking polished and being comfortable anymore," says Kyte. Wherever you are in your body journey, find silhouettes, clothing, and brands that empower you.
