Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, boxing fans will be treated to the biggest cruiserweight fight in decades. WBC light heavyweight champion David Benavidez is moving up to cruiserweight to take on unified champion Gilberto Ramirez in a top-notch main event. The undefeated Benavidez comes in as the No. 5 pound-for-pound fighter in the sport, but Ramirez is 48-1 and he has been untouchable at cruiserweight. This is a great fight with a solid undercard. Here are the details.

While some boxing promoters have moved away from the pay-per-view model in part, Premier Boxing Champions is still using it. Thus, boxing fans will need to turn to Amazon Prime Video, DAZN PPV, or PPV.com. This one will run $79.99, which is pretty steep.

Saturday’s broadcast kicks off at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, with the Benavidez vs. Ramirez main event ringwalks expected closer to 11:20 p.m. ET. A free preliminary card streams on Prime Video starting at 5:30 p.m. ET for early arrivals.

Full Fight Card

Cinco de Mayo weekend has been huge for boxing for eons. It belonged to Canelo Alvarez for many years. However, with the Mexican legend preparing for his return to the ring following his super lucrative loss to Terence Crawford in 2025, the date was open. Benavidez is the next best choice to represent the holiday, and he's getting a prime spot. Aside from him and Ramirez, the card is stacked with other exciting Mexican fighters like Jose Armando Resendiz vs. Jaime Munguia and others.

Here is the full lineup for Saturday night:

  • David Benavidez (31-0) vs. Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez (48-1) — Cruiserweight, Unified WBA and WBO Titles
  • Jose Armando Resendiz (16-2) vs. Jaime Munguia (45-2) — Super Middleweight, WBA Title
  • Oscar Duarte (30-2-1) vs. Angel Fierro (24-4-2) — Super Lightweight
  • Isaac Lucero (18-0) vs. Ismael Flores (17-1-1) — Super Welterweight
  • Jorge Chavez (15-0-1) vs. Tito Sanchez (15-0) — Super Bantamweight

What Should Fans Know About David Benavidez?

The Monster is one of the most devastating and punishing punchers in boxing. His 81% KO rate is proof of his punch potency, and many want to know if he will carry his punch up a weight class.

Benavidez is 29 years old, stands 6-foot-2 with a 74.5-inch reach, and currently holds the WBC light heavyweight title after dominating super middleweight for years. A win on Saturday would make him a three-division world champion before his 30th birthday.

What Should Fans Know About Gilberto Ramirez?

Ramirez is one of the most underrated fighters of his era. Despite dominating at light heavyweight for years, losing his only professional fight to Dmitry Bivol, and then moving up to cruiserweight where he has become a unified champion, Zurdo still doesn't get the love he deserves. If he can beat the Monster, that'll change.

The southpaw is 34 years old, stands 6-foot-2.5 with a 75-inch reach, and has rattled off four straight wins at 200 pounds, including the unification victory over Chris Billam-Smith in November 2024 and a successful WBA defense against Yuniel Dorticos last June.

Why Does This Fight Matter?

In the weight region, this is as big as it gets. The winner has a path to a big-money fight with Bivol or perhaps even Artur Beterbiev. If nothing else, they will have solidified themselves as arguably the premier Mexican fighter in the world, and one of the best overall.

Beyond the legacy stakes, this is also the first true all-Mexican Cinco de Mayo PPV main event in years that captures the spirit of the holiday’s boxing tradition. Benavidez enters as a heavy -500 favorite, but Ramirez at +320 has the size, length, and championship pedigree at 200 pounds to make this competitive.
