We're just over 48 hours away from WrestleMania 42. No matter what anyone says about the builds, the matches, creative, etc, there's still a legitimate buzz in the air. The biggest wrestling event on the planet is just around the corner and here's everything you need to know about the two-night extravaganza.
WrestleMania 42 runs Saturday April 18 and Sunday April 19 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Both nights start at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT, with Countdown shows starting at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT on ESPN and WWE digital platforms.
The first hour of Night 1 airs on ESPN2, and the first hour of Night 2 airs on ESPN. The full show both nights is available on the ESPN App for ESPN Unlimited subscribers. International fans get both nights live on Netflix.
On paper, Night 1 looks like the weaker card. Sure, Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton is the main event and could be great, but there are two potential dead spots with the Vision and IShowSpeed vs. The Usos and LA Knight along with the women's tag-team title match. We'll see. Hopefully, we're pleasantly surprised.
Seth Rollins vs. Gunther is the work-rate match that could save the night if the card goes sideways anywhere else. The Pat McAfee stipulation — he must leave wrestling forever if Orton loses — adds a layer of legitimate stakes to the title match that the build alone wasn't quite delivering. As covered in the WrestleMania 42 card update after Raw, the final shape of Night 1 came together quickly.
Night 1 — Full Card (Saturday, April 18 | 6 p.m. ET)
The IC and US title matches could steal the show. I'm still expecting Carmelo Hayes to be added to the Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams match on Friday. Also, there's no telling what we get from Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk. Let's not forget Oba Femi's potential major WrestleMania moment. Many expect him to beat Brock Lesnar.
Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley is the top women's match of the weekend, and it has the physical contrast and storytelling to be a genuine standout. The six-man IC Title Ladder Match — Penta, Je'Von Evans, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, Rusev, and Rey Mysterio — is positioned as the chaos match of the night. Night 2 — Full Card (Sunday, April 19 | 6 p.m. ET)
