Well, it wouldn’t be a Destiny 2 update without some wild bugs, and this is certainly one of the strangest, most profitable we’ve seen in some time. But as this is the final update of Destiny 2, there are now questions about when and if these kinds of things get fixed anymore, or if Bungie is willing to just let the game exist in perpetual craziness from here.

The latest bug here is once again, raid boss cheese, but it works on a number of them, including one of the newest Pantheon additions, Insurrection Prime, and a classic foe like Last Wish’s Morgeth. The glitch is easy to execute:

• Step 1: Be a Titan
• Step 2: Equip Ward of Dawn
• Step 3: Shoot a bunch of crossbow bolts into the new central core of Ward of Dawn
• Step 4: Pick it up and run at the boss
• Step 5: Watch the boss launch off a ledge or straight into the sun
• Step 6: Collect rewards

This is possible because the newly added core is a physical object, and so are crossbow bolts, so combine those, and that triggers some sort of fus ro dah effect on bosses as you wield what is a cross between a landmine and a spiked mace. This is, of course, not available to use on all bosses, given that the type of boss or the terrain may not allow for it. But I’ve seen it on Morgeth, Insurrection Prime and our old friend, quite familiar with falling to his death, Atheon. Though presumably there are more on the list.

This joins a second bug that is less funny but more powerful. This one lets you stack singular artifact mods for ridiculous damage, including the most powerful supers the game has ever seen. And a lot of supers, not just one. The steps for that:

• Step 1: Queue into Trials of Osiris
• Step 2: When the menu disappears, go into the artifact and jam that one artifact perk into all the slots.

That’s it. The main one people are picking is Thunderous Retort, which increases your super damage under easy-to-get status conditions, and we’re seeing pretty much any one-use super one-shotting all manner of bosses. I’ve also seen people stack a machine gun damage one, turning Thunderlord into an absolute demon.

The question is: Will Bungie fix these? Some say either Bungie has peaced out so they won’t bother, or the game should just be left this way because who cares? It’s over now.

Eh, I don’t think either is correct. Bungie has said that the one thing they will be doing is fixing periodic bugs, and both of these are very much bugs. And as for the “who cares” idea, I mean, even if Destiny 2 isn’t getting new updates, I don’t think you want to trivialize a huge number of bosses until the end of time. I mean, people are still playing, new players are still joining. I just don’t think this is a net positive in the long term.

We’ll see what Bungie does. It could be left for a short while or perhaps longer, but I don’t think this will last forever. Get your cheese in while you can.
