Is Off Campus getting a season 2?

Off Campus was renewed well before it actually aired in May, announcing that it would get a season 2 back in February 2026, a huge show of confidence in the series that proved to be well-founded, as the film has big viewership and an amazing 96% Rotten Tomatoes critic score. That kind of early renewal should lead to an earlier second season premiere date and yes, that appears to be what’s happening.

When is the Off Campus season 2 release date?

• Filming for Off Campus season 1 began in June 2025 in Canada, wrapping in October 2025. 11 months of post-production later, and it arrive on May 12, 2026.
• Filming for Off Campus season 2 will begin on June 1 and run through September 18, it’s said. Showrunner Louisa Levy confirms the eight scripts for season 2, which will focus on Dean and Allie this time, are done. So obviously we are on the same track here, and shooting for an April or May 2025 release date.

That would be a very welcome year, or not even a year, gap between seasons of the show, far less than we see with most high-profile productions in the streaming era. It certainly helps that this is not some huge blockbuster series like Amazon’s Rings of Power or The Boys, but that early renewal really helped things.

Off Campus is based on a 5-book series from Elle Kennedy, the last of which was published in 2021. The hockey-centric romance has been compared to HBO Max hit Heated Rivalry, possibly as an attempt to ape that series’ huge success, but this was in development before that show became a huge hit. And it may run for longer, given this source material.

Amazon has found hits with romance series in the past, the just-concluded The Summer I Turned Pretty being the most high-profile. But Off Campus unseating the final season of one of Amazon’s highest profile series the week before it ends is certainly eyebrow-raising, though that could say more about The Boys, I suppose.

If filming is starting for Off Campus season 2 in just two weeks, we will likely see a promotional campaign arrive by the fall. For now, fans can binge or re-binge the original, as my wife is currently doing.
