Today we’ve reached yet another milestone on our journey. Wiz has raised $1 billion at a $12 billion valuation, led by Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Thrive Capital. 

This news, which is the result of hard work and dedication, makes us reflect on the past while setting our sights on the future. At every inflection point in the Wiz story – whether it’s becoming the world’s largest cyber unicorn or being voted the #1 CNAPP by customers – I’m reminded of how far Wiz has come and struck by the tireless efforts of so many people. Our fantastic Wizards, who truly set the bar for excellence. Our investors, who act as extensions of the internal team, many of whom have been with Wiz since day 1. Our customers, who inspire us to solve their most pressing cybersecurity challenges and trust us to support their cloud journey. Every day we commit to earning that trust anew.  

The Wiz story is still being written. Cybersecurity moves at warp speed, and so must we. Our quest to build a platform that security and development teams love now includes SOC teams, thanks to the threat detection expertise brought to us by Gem. I’ve said 2024 is the year of consolidation – for Wiz, and the industry at large. The days of sprawling tech stacks are drawing to a close, driven by the same thirst for consolidation that gave rise to the CNAPP category.  

“Evolve or die” is the tagline for the modern age. The market is notably different than when Wiz first launched, and it will look even more different in 12-18 months’ time. In the long run, it’s the platform players that will stand the test of time.  

So how will we use this new injection of capital?  

“Talent acquisition and product expansion” is the standard response to that question. This is true for Wiz, given that the team is growing and our rate of innovation must never falter. I’ll also add that our growth trajectory will continue to be aided by strategic acquisitions that propel us forward and enable us to cover more ground in less time.  

As with all our milestones, we’re eyeing the future while celebrating the present. I’ll close with the same words as last time, because they always ring true:  

We owe our growth to our amazing customers, employees, investors, and partners. Without you all, there would be no Wiz. So, a big thanks from me and the rest of the Wiz team for being part of this incredible journey.
