Today we have reached yet another milestone on our journey - we have signed a deal to be acquired by Google. The deal is subject to regulatory review, and Wiz will join Google Cloud after close.   

Five years ago, my fellow cofounders and I set out to create something security and development teams would love. We embarked on a significant mission: to help every organization secure everything they build and run in the cloud – any cloud. Our journey to create a platform that both security and development teams love has been shaped by listening to our customers. Their challenges inspire us to develop innovative cybersecurity solutions, and they trust us to support their cloud journey. Every day, we strive to earn and uphold that trust.   

This guidance put us on a mission to change the way security is done and create a completely new operating model for security in the cloud. Customer adoption of our platform, from enterprises to start ups to public sector, has grown at an incredible pace as we grow our vision to support our customers from public clouds to data and AI clouds, from cloud risk to the entire dev lifecycle, and from risk and prevention to the entire threat lifecycle including detection, response and prevention of threats. Today, Wiz is one platform for the modern cloud security operating model, from cloud to code.     

Today’s news comes back to that same guiding principle. Wiz and Google Cloud are both fueled by the belief that cloud security needs to be easier, more accessible, more intelligent, and democratized, so more organizations can adopt and use cloud and AI securely.    

We both also believe Wiz needs to remain a multicloud platform, so that across any cloud, we will continue to be a leading platform. We will still work closely with our great partners at AWS, Azure, Oracle, and across the entire industry.   

Wiz has achieved so much in a relatively short period, but cybersecurity moves at warp speed and so must we. The time is now.   

We expect this change to enable us to execute and innovate even faster. Becoming part of Google Cloud is effectively strapping a rocket to our backs: it will accelerate our rate of innovation faster than what we could achieve as a standalone company.   

Google Cloud is the foundation of most engineering revolutions in recent years, helping to redefine cloud, security and AI development. Google Cloud innovated with its cloud-native security approach, bringing innovations like Zero Trust and Supply-chain Levels for Software Artifacts (SLSA), which now lead the path for many organizations. Kubernetes, a core part of cloud and cloud native development has been invented by Google Cloud. Today, it is a strong standard for cloud engineering, and of course in gen AI; Google has open sourced TensorFlow and many other tools and research to help advance AI. Google Cloud builds some of the most scalable and secure products in the world, and together we want to utilize these cutting-edge technologies to accelerate Wiz and help every team in the world get the most advanced cloud security possible.   

The resources and AI expertise will significantly bolster Wiz in important ways for the people who matter most:    

• Customers, by bringing together leading cloud security, data, and AI solutions, we will be able to offer more choices and solutions to secure their systems in any major cloud or hybrid environment.  

• Partners remain integral to our strategy of making Wiz open to organizations of all types and sizes. Organizations now have an even more compelling reason to embrace our cloud security platform; the timing has never been better to partner with Wiz.    

• Employees, our unbelievable team of Wizards are celebrating an amazing milestone. We have shown what an amazing impact a committed set of experts can have on the industry and the world’s cybersecurity, and now will work alongside top minds who are equally as committed to transforming the face of the industry.    

Cloud is more important than ever, and attackers aren’t slowing down. They are already using the most innovative technologies to move faster. We see it as our mission to do whatever we can to accelerate the Wiz vision, and we truly believe this announcement will enable us to do so. All of us at Wiz are committed to continued innovation, to accelerate our pace, all towards one goal: to bring to our customers the best security platform the world has ever seen.
