Are you ready for a new challenge?  

Today, we’re announcing "The K8s LAN Party" — a cloud security Capture the Flag (CTF) event. The mission? To dive into a network full of misconfigurations and exploit vulnerabilities with the goal of conquering a Kubernetes cluster.   

This challenge consists of five different scenarios, each one focusing on issues of Kubernetes networking that we at Wiz Research have encountered and exploited in real-world scenarios. Participants will play as the attacker, learn about the existing misconfigurations, and then exploit them in a controlled environment.  

The challenge is designed for individual participation, but we encourage collaboration! You can form a team and discuss strategies with your colleagues or friends. Just remember: completion of the challenge will be individually tracked. 

Declare your K8s network security expertise  

Finishers who register will see their names honored on our live leaderboard and will receive an official certificate signifying their participation.  And for those of you attending KubeCon EMEA 2024, we have a surprise! After you complete The Kubernetes LAN Party Challenge, visit our booth at the event and present your confirmation of completion to claim a t-shirt. If you can’t attend, don’t worry — the challenge is accessible online from anywhere, and you can still claim your certificate.

The K8s Lan Party Challenge represents a unique opportunity for individuals to deepen their understanding of Kubernetes network security. It will be a hands-on experience that reflects real-world scenarios we've encountered during our research across cloud providers and major SaaS products. We look forward to seeing the impressive problem-solving skills and technical knowledge of all participants.
